Autumn Reflections,
Seasons In Our Lives:
Recently, I’ve been thinking about the different seasons we go through in our lives. Sometimes it can be hard to tell what time of the year it is internally. Are we flourishing and blossoming in a mental spring time, maybe resting in an introspective winter?
I’m not sure it is always necessary to know what season we are in, but sometimes the season we want to be in does not reflect the truth of the matter. It can be helpful to honor and reflect on the season we are actually in, allow it to play out, and ease steadily into the season we are aiming for. A harsh winter can lead into a fruitful spring, an exhausting summer can bring us to a restful and plentiful autumn. Allow the seasons to pass by as they will, and if you can find something, even something small to enjoy or celebrate in a hard season, the next time it comes around it may feel more familiar and less difficult. An afternoon in local park stirred this lovely reflection on the seasons. Enjoy the scenery, and in the spirit of Samhain (Halloween), happy new year!
