The Amalfi Coast Checklist
- Explore the area to find a local shop for fresh produce, cheese, and wine or sparking water.

- Find a local shop to frequent for a morning coffee.
- Do some window shopping in the retail district.
- Spend one day just reading or writing.
- Attend a heartfelt candlelit dinner with friends.
- Make time to swim each day, don’t forget the occasional midnight dip!
- Let a few days pass without a plan; let serendipity guide.
- Have a tourist day to see all of the go-to sights and locations.
- Take a boat ride around the coast, pack a picnic for lunch.
- Write a letter to someone you are fond of, and buy a pack of postcards for later.
- Keep a journal of your time here. Note down your favorite places, moments and foods.
- Bring a film camera and document the moments that stir your heart and make you feel still.

1. Across the Sea
Write a short story about a long sailing trip across oceans to reach the Amalfi Coast. Who decided to take this voyage and why? How do characters know one another, what are their relationships like, and what is their time on the boat like? Describe a few days on the boat, what they plan to do when they reach land, and how they feel once they reach the Amalfi Coast (that is, if you want your characters to arrive!)
2. Costa d’Amalfi
Write a short story imagining what life is like on the coast. Tell us about the region, and focus on the experiences of one small town in this region. Is the community in this town laidback and playful, or mysterious and strange? What are they like? Describe one day in this town from start to finish, telling us about different shops or markets, friend groups, and activities your characters take part in!
